When the One Who Encourages Is Struggling to Stay Encouraged

When the One Who Encourages Is Struggling to Stay Encouraged

By Colleeno Chippy

You never really know what someone is going through. That’s the truth. We can be standing right next to someone, exchanging smiles, posting quotes, sharing jokes, and still have no idea of the quiet storm they’re navigating behind the scenes.

Lately, I’ve been walking through one of those quiet storms.

I haven’t posted much. I haven’t sold anything. I haven’t shown up the way I usually do in my business. And it’s not because I’ve given up—it’s because I’ve been trying to hold it all together when everything felt like it was falling apart.

And that’s hard to admit when you’re the person who encourages everyone else.

When you’re the one who writes about positivity, who talks about neuroplasticity, who believes in the power of the mind to change the atmosphere. When you’re the one preaching faith, hope, trust. But sometimes, even the encourager gets weary.

I’ve been in a battle lately. Not just financially or emotionally—but mentally. There are days when I feel like I’m fighting to believe in the very things I teach. Not because they aren’t true. But because the weight I’m carrying makes it hard to see clearly.

But let me tell you what I’m learning: being human doesn’t disqualify me from being helpful.

Even on days when I feel like I’m crawling instead of walking in purpose, I still believe in the message. Even on days when I don’t feel like smiling, I still believe in joy. Even when I’m low, I still believe in the climb.

This isn’t a post asking for pity or sympathy. It’s a post to say I get it. If you’ve been in a place where the words are slow to come, the motivation feels stale, and the world seems too loud and too quiet at the same time—you’re not alone.

We don’t always talk about these moments. Especially when you’re a light for others. But I’ve decided to be more honest with my readers, with my community, with myself. I’m not perfect. I’m not always strong. But I’m always trying.

And sometimes, that’s more than enough.

So this is me showing up again. Not because everything is fixed. But because I believe there’s purpose even in the struggle. I believe our stories matter most when they’re shared in truth. And I believe that no matter how long the pause—there’s always room for a comeback.

I’m coming back—imperfect, healing, and still hopeful.

Let’s walk this season out together.
