Stop Waiting to Feel Ready

Stop Waiting to Feel Ready

By Colleeno Chippy

How much of life gets delayed waiting for the perfect moment?

Waiting until you feel more confident. More prepared. More certain.

Waiting until fear disappears. Waiting until you feel ready.

And sometimes that waiting can look wise. Responsible, even.

But often… it is hesitation wearing the clothes of preparation.

Because the truth is, many things in life do not begin with readiness.

They begin with decision.

This is something many people learn too late.

You do not always feel ready before the step.

Sometimes the step is what creates the readiness.

Confidence often comes after action.

Clarity often comes after movement.

Courage often comes while doing the thing you were afraid to begin.

But if you keep waiting to feel fully equipped first—

you may stay standing at the edge of things meant to grow you.

For far too long.

There is a myth that people who do brave things feel no hesitation.

That they somehow arrive at a place where fear leaves before they begin.

But that is rarely true.

Most people begin uncertain. Most people begin imperfect. Most people begin before they feel fully prepared.

And they become ready along the way.

That is how growth works. Not by eliminating discomfort— but by moving with it.

Because readiness is often built in motion.

Think about how many things in life you learned only by doing.

Not by overthinking. Not by waiting. By doing.

Step by step; and isn’t that how most becoming happens?

You don’t become stronger before resistance.

You become stronger through it.

You don’t become confident before experience.

You become confident because of it.

So why expect dreams to work differently?

Why believe you must feel complete certainty before beginning something meaningful?

Sometimes what you call “not ready” is simply fear asking for more delay.

And fear is persuasive.

It sounds practical. It sounds protective.

But too often— it keeps people from becoming who they were meant to be.

What if you stopped asking:

“Am I ready enough?”

And started asking:

“What would happen if I trusted myself enough to begin?”

That question opens something.

Because now the focus shifts from perfection… to participation.

And participation changes things.

A first draft gets written.

An idea gets tested.

A voice gets used.

A dream gets movement.

And suddenly what felt impossible starts becoming familiar.

Not because fear vanished.

But because you stopped giving it final authority.

Maybe what you need today is not more preparation.

Maybe you need permission.

Permission to begin before you feel polished.

Permission to move before certainty arrives.

Permission to trust that readiness can meet you in motion.

Because it often does.

You may not feel ready. Begin anyway.

You may feel unsure. Move anyway.

You may doubt yourself. Take the step anyway.

Because waiting to feel ready has postponed many beautiful things.

And maybe one of them has been yours.

Don’t keep standing at the threshold of what is calling you.

Step toward it.

Readiness may be waiting on the other side of action.

You do not have to feel fully ready to begin.

You only have to be willing.

but with a courageous first step.

Stop waiting. Start moving.

And let readiness meet you there.
