Faith in the Middle of Uncertainty
Faith in the Middle of Uncertainty
By Colleeno Chippy
Faith is often easiest when everything is going well.
When things are flowing.
When doors are opening.
When answers are clear.
But the true depth of faith is revealed in a different kind of moment—the in-between.
The space where nothing seems to be moving.
The space where things feel delayed.
Unclear.
Uncertain.
It is in these moments that the mind begins to wander the most.
Questions start to form:
What if this doesn’t work out?
What if nothing changes?
What if I’m waiting for something that won’t happen?
These thoughts can feel heavy, especially when there is no immediate evidence to reassure us. The absence of visible progress can make it seem as though nothing is happening at all.
But often, that is not the truth.
Just because something is not visible does not mean it is not unfolding.
Life does not always move in ways we can see or measure. Some things take time to align behind the scenes before they become visible in front of us.
This is why faith during uncertainty requires a deeper level of trust.
It asks us to remain steady even when we do not have answers.
It asks us to believe even when we cannot yet see results.
And most importantly, it asks us to hold our mindset in a place of possibility rather than fear.
The challenge is that uncertainty can feel uncomfortable. The mind prefers clarity. It prefers knowing what is coming next. So when that clarity is missing, it tries to fill the gap with assumptions—often negative ones.
But we have a choice in those moments.
We can allow uncertainty to create anxiety.
Or we can allow it to create space.
Space for things to unfold.
Space for solutions to appear.
Space for life to align in ways we cannot yet predict.
Faith in uncertainty is not passive. It is active.
It is the ongoing decision to trust, even when doubt tries to take over.
It is catching yourself when your thoughts begin to spiral and gently bringing them back to a place of calm.
It is reminding yourself:
Just because I cannot see it yet does not mean it is not on its way.
There is also something important to understand about timing. Not everything happens the moment we want it to. Some things require preparation—both externally and internally.
Sometimes we are being prepared for what we are asking for.
Sometimes circumstances are aligning in ways we cannot yet see.
And sometimes delays are not denials—they are simply part of the process.
When we begin to understand this, waiting starts to feel different. It no longer feels like something is missing. Instead, it feels like something is developing.
Over time, faith becomes less about needing immediate answers and more about maintaining a steady mindset regardless of what is happening externally.
It becomes a quiet confidence.
A calm knowing.
A sense that even in uncertainty, things are still working out.
Because they often are.

Conclusion
Uncertainty is a natural part of life.
There will always be moments where answers are not immediate and outcomes are not yet visible. But within those moments lies an opportunity to strengthen something deeper.
Faith.
The kind of faith that does not depend on what can be seen, but instead rests on trust.
Trust in the process.
Trust in timing.
Trust that things can come together, even when they feel unclear.
Because sometimes, the most important growth happens in the middle of uncertainty.
And often, what we are waiting for is already making its way toward us—even if we cannot yet see it.
