Looking Back: The Moments Faith Carried You
Looking Back: The Moments Faith Carried You
By Colleeno Chippy
Sometimes the strongest evidence of faith is not found in the present moment.
It is found in the past.
In the moments where things once felt uncertain… but somehow worked out.
In the situations that once caused stress… but eventually became solutions.
In the times where you didn’t know how things would come together… but they did.
Looking back allows you to see something clearly that may not have been visible at the time:
You have been carried through uncertainty before.
And not just once.
More times than you may even realize.
There were moments when you questioned everything. Moments when the outcome felt unclear, when the pressure felt heavy, when the answers were nowhere in sight.
Yet somehow, things shifted.
Opportunities appeared.
Support showed up.
Solutions formed.
And what once felt impossible became something you moved through.
This is why reflection is so powerful.
It reminds you that uncertainty is not new.
You have experienced it before.
And more importantly, you have made it through before.
The challenge is that when we are in the middle of a current situation, it can feel different. The mind begins to treat the present moment as if it is more difficult, more complicated, or more uncertain than anything we have faced before.
But often, that is not the truth.
It only feels that way because we are inside of it.
When you take a step back and reflect, you begin to see patterns.
You begin to notice that things have a way of working out—sometimes not exactly how you expected, but in ways that still moved you forward.
You begin to realize that faith has been present in your life long before you consciously recognized it.
Each time you kept going.
Each time you found a solution.
Each time things came together.
That was faith in action.
Even if you didn’t call it that at the time.
Reflection also helps to quiet the mind.
When doubt starts to appear, you can remind yourself:
I’ve been here before.
I’ve felt this before.
And it worked out before.
These reminders are not just comforting—they are grounding.
They bring your focus back to truth instead of fear.
Another important part of reflection is gratitude.
Gratitude for the moments that worked out.
Gratitude for the lessons learned.
Gratitude for the growth that came from uncertainty.
Because even the difficult moments often serve a purpose.
They build resilience.
They strengthen trust.
They deepen understanding.
And when you begin to see that, your relationship with uncertainty changes.
It no longer feels like something to fear.
It becomes something you understand.
Something you know how to move through.
Looking back is not about staying in the past.
It is about using the past as evidence.
Evidence that you are capable.
Evidence that things can align.
Evidence that faith has already been working in your life.
And if it has worked before, there is every reason to believe it can work again.
