When You Don’t Know How, But You Still Move
When You Don’t Know How, But You Still Move
By Colleeno Chippy
There are times in life when we stand at the edge of a decision and realize something important: we don’t actually know how everything will work out.
We may know what we need to do.
We may feel the internal pull to take action.
But the details remain unclear.
The mind begins to ask questions.
How will this happen?
Where will the resources come from?
What if things don’t go the way we hope?
These questions are natural. Human beings are wired to seek certainty. We like to feel prepared before taking action, and we often want to see the entire path before we begin walking.
But life rarely reveals itself that way.
Often the next step appears only after the first step is taken.
This is why movement is such an important part of faith. When we wait for every detail to be perfect, we often remain stuck in the same place for far too long. We tell ourselves that we will act when we feel more ready, when the situation becomes clearer, or when everything feels secure.
Yet many of life’s most meaningful opportunities arrive before we feel fully prepared.
In those moments, the real question becomes: Are we willing to move even when we don’t know how everything will unfold?
Taking action in uncertainty requires courage. It means trusting that solutions can appear along the way. It means believing that progress can happen step by step, rather than all at once.
When people look back at pivotal moments in their lives, they often realize that clarity did not come first. Instead, clarity arrived after movement began.
This is because action creates momentum.
Momentum creates possibility.
And possibility opens doors that were not visible before.
The mind sometimes convinces us that we must solve every potential problem before we begin. But the truth is that many solutions only become visible once we start moving forward. Waiting for total certainty can delay opportunities that are meant for us.
Another important part of this journey is managing the thoughts that appear along the way. Even after deciding to move forward, the mind may still try to pull us back into doubt. Thoughts like What if this doesn’t work? or What if I fail? can quietly appear.
The key is learning how to recognize those thoughts without allowing them to control our actions.
Instead of feeding fear, we can gently redirect our thinking. We can remind ourselves that uncertainty does not automatically mean something will go wrong. In many cases, uncertainty simply means the outcome has not yet been revealed.
By choosing to focus on possibility rather than fear, we strengthen our ability to move forward with confidence.
This does not mean everything will always happen exactly the way we expect. Life has its own rhythm, and outcomes sometimes unfold differently than we imagine. However, moving forward with trust often leads us to experiences, lessons, and opportunities that we could not have predicted.
The important thing is that we do not allow the absence of clarity to stop us from beginning.
Sometimes the most powerful decision we can make is to take the next step, even when the rest of the journey remains hidden.
Because once movement begins, the path often reveals itself in ways we could never have planned.

Conclusion
Life rarely provides full certainty before action. More often, clarity appears after we decide to move forward.
When we release the need to understand every detail ahead of time, we create space for growth and unexpected opportunities. Each step taken in trust builds confidence and momentum, guiding us further along the path.
Even when the destination is not fully visible, the next step is often enough.
And sometimes the greatest progress begins with a simple decision:
Move forward, even when you don’t yet know how everything will work out.
